Herbarium Course (Course)
Saturday March 17, 2007 and Saturday, March 24, 2007 (one class spanning both days)
9am to 12 noon
Course Details Learn about the history and significance of herbariums, including the UBC Herbarium. Enjoy a workshop and demonstration on the process of creating a herbarium mount. Participants will create at least 2 beautifully preserved and mounted UBC Botanical Garden plant specimens. Each participant can enjoy the experience of making a contribution to plant research by donating one mount to the UBC Herbarium, while additional mounts can be taken home and utilized as a decoration, gift or the beginning of a personal plant collection.
