Lecture Details Douglas will give an illustrated lecture on flowering cherry trees in Vancouver, touching on their history, diversity, beauty and suitability for the urban environment. He will also provide background and an update on the Peter Wharton Cherry Grove at the Botanical Garden and the Ornamental Cherry Propagation Project.
Instructor (Brief) Douglas Justice, UBC Botanical Garden Associate Director and Curator of Collections
Instructor (Bio) Douglas Justice is associate director and curator of collections at UBC Botanical Garden. He is involved with public and industry extension and teaches courses in plant identification and horticulture at UBC. The popular 2008 field guide, Ornamental Cherries in Vancouver, was a collaboration between Douglas and Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival volunteers.
