Native Plants Under Fire

What affect do controlled burns have on aiding at-risk native species? UBC researcher Andrew MacDougall has been investigating this question in the Cowichan Garry Oak Preserve near Duncan, BC, an 18 hectare site owned by the Nature Conservancy of Canada.

Art in the Garden (2004)

Artists are invited to use the garden for inspiration on June 27 from 10am to 3pm. The Garden Pavilion will be available as workspace, meeting place and refreshment area. Artists can use either the pavilion or the gardens to work.

Hailey Pappin shares the colours of Brooklyn Botanic Garden in this month's free Monday seminar on June 14.
The techniques of fruit tree espalier are taught by one of UBC garden's expert horticulturists, Tony Maniezzo, on Saturday, June 19. Tony maintains the Food Garden.
